Welcome to Orchestra!

My primary goal as a teacher is to develop student’s love for music in a safe and friendly environment. As music is considered a “universal language”, it allows us to communicate with others in a way that can sometimes surpass all others. It is because of this that I enjoy sharing my love for music with students, and hope to cultivate that passion within them. Cello is my primary instrument, and I enjoy playing and teaching alternative styles (pop, fiddle, jazz, etc.) in addition to classical styles. Incorporating technology into orchestra is also important to me, as this allows students to relate a very traditional subject to a more modern world.

Some other things about me: After attending Eastern Michigan University, I taught orchestra and technology at a small school in Lansing, MI and also gave private cello lessons. I am so excited to be back in the Ann Arbor area, and looking forward to what STEAM has in store for this year! Some of my hobbies include: playing cello, reading, camping, and crafting.
